Under the general direction of the Director of Creative Services, this position will support the production of signage for use at the Wisconsin State Fair Park and the annual Wisconsin State Fair. The Production Assistant will be expected to support the development of digital sign design, directional, event banners, and printing and finishing of signage for the Wisconsin State Fair Park from the on-site sign shop. Approximately 1,200 signs and banners will be produced for the annual Wisconsin State Fair. Note* This position can be considered an internship for students who are interested.

Limited Term Employment (LTE) position working an average of 20 hours per week from April through the end of May. This position may increase to 40 hours per week from June through the Wisconsin State Fair (ending on August 12, 2018).

The hourly wage for this role is $9.75 per hour.

This position is open to all qualified Wisconsin residents who meet the outlined criteria.

  • Support in printing of approved signage on large format printer
  • Cut and trim signage to appropriate size
  • Mount signage on appropriate substrate/coroplast
  • Ensure signage has been approved by client/Event Services prior to production
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative and critical thinker
  • Great organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data programs
  • Knowledge of and experience using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of and experience using Typesetting and Final Production
Candidate must have the ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, at times leading up to and during the Wisconsin State Fair (August 2-12, 2018). Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
